My Thoughts on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game.

If you've played The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game as much as I have, this week has been rough. Gun Interactive, the team behind one of the most atmospheric and addictive asymmetrical horror games out there, announced they’re officially done with updates and bug fixes. The game will still be running, but there's a depressing level to it that will break your heart.  No more content. No more patches. Just… silence.

As someone who’s spent hours in this game, mastering characters, learning maps, and soaking up the gritty chaos that only Texas Chainsaw can bring, it honestly breaks my heart. The potential this game has is insane. It’s not just another horror multiplayer — it captures that dirty, brutal, slasher-flick energy in a way no other game has.

Yes, there have been bugs. Yes, there have been balance issues. But the core experience? It's something special. It feels different. And that’s rare.

Another reason is that the lack of bug-fixing for the future will ruin the game. Yes, you will still be able to play. But it will be using peer-to-peer matchmaking. Peer-to-peer matchmaking is when a game doesn't use a central server, and the games are created by moving your personal data with other players. This doesn't create a sense of security, and it will likely lead to more hacking, DDoS attacks, and personal information theft.

I truly hope this isn't the end. There’s already been talk in the community about how much better the game could be in different hands, and honestly, if IllFonic (the team behind Friday the 13th: The Game and Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game) were to pick it up, that could be the saving grace we need. They’ve got the background, the experience, and the horror-game love to carry it forward.

This game has a fanbase. A loyal one. We’re still playing, still supporting, still hoping. We don’t want to see it disappear into forgotten servers.

So here’s to hoping that the right people see what Texas Chainsaw Massacre could become,  and give it the future it deserves.
